Lions Club
Welcome, we are delighted that you are learning more about the Bountiful Lions Club! Membership can have so many meaningful rewards.
The Bountiful Lions Club is the pre-eminent volunteer service organization for both women and men, and is associated with The International Association of Lions Clubs, which is the largest service organization in the World, and is over 100 years old. The main purpose of the club is to encourage service-minded people to volunteer in their community without personal financial reward as well as to promote high ethical standards.
The Bountiful Lions Club was formed in 1939, making this our eightieth year of serving the Bountiful community. The Club sponsors a recreational gun shooting range which includes rifle, shotgun, and pistol ranges which are open to the public. Club membership also includes use privileges at the range. The Club sponsors an annual Turkey Shoot Fund Raiser (NO we do not harm turkeys, it is a fun and exciting clay disk shoot with frozen turkeys awarded as prizes) on the weekend before Thanksgiving. The club also sponsors, with the Bountiful Jeep Posse, a ham shoot in April. However, the club is not just made up of people with an interest in target shooting. We strongly encourage non shooting members of our community interested in volunteer opportunities to consider joining our ranks.
Some of the Club service projects are: (1) Sight conservation vision screening of K-6thgrade students in the South Davis area under the direction of the school nurses, (2) providing eye glasses for needy students, (3) conduct an annual target shoot for the limited sighted students from the blind school, with the help of the Bountiful Jeep Posse. (4) Sub for Santa (5) Summerfest with the Bountiful Arts Council (6) Chuck Wagon Breakfast in conjunction with the South Davis Recreation Center.
Club meetings are held on the first and third Tuesday of each month. You are welcome to attend our meetings to visit with other members of the club
